This is the first time sending out a newsletter or any content of this form, but I just wanted to take a moment and explain the latest around Art of Infra and what's in store.
Host Move
We successfully moved our Ghost blog on 22/08/25 to a new host (AWS Lightsail) to remove it from other projects/ servers I'm working on. This is to prepare for expanding Art of Infra with new projects on the horizon.
Initially, it was a bit of a pain to fully understand how moving from our non-standard setup (curse me for trying to be smart and dockerising Ghost CLI) and move/ migrate content to a completely new setup that now falls in line with Ghosts new v6 and docker formats.
After reading up on the basics, and with a bit of back and forth between ChatGPT/ Grok, the actual migration took less than 5 minutes.
During this changeover, members have been migrated over seamlessly (he says) and it seems everything works as intended. With this change, we changed how the structure of admin domains is presented, which we should have done before, and enabled us to better cache the platform for improved performance.

I'll go deeper into the technicalities of the caching setup in a future post.
The Future
In the coming months, we'll be releasing new web-based tools, some of which are listed below, and some of which are kept behind closed doors until we're ready to talk more about them.
- Expanded Subnet designer/ calculator
- The existing calculator was just a test bed to see what we could achieve and the complexities behind the project. We're set now to expand on this with a move into more interesting spaces.
- Visual AWS Network designer and subnet allocator
- With the existing subnet calculator, an idea popped up to visually display this information, but allow further design and service implementation, visually.
- On top of this, I want to have the ability to then export the designs into native CloudFormation (and potentially Terraform) later down the line.
- TTFB Testing
- During the initial testing of the old Art of Infra host, I was using TTFB testing a lot. Testing performance is such an important step when creating platforms/ blogs to ensure your community and potentially customers can access your site quickly and efficiently.
- We plan on implementing a TTFB testing platform for premium members of Art of Infra, allowing probing from multiple continents to give you a wonderful bird's-eye view of how your website is responding to requests, globally.
- There will also be a free implementation, but only to allow the TTFB probing for a domain name every 24-48 hours.
- And more....
Packets, Please.
Our weekly newsletter "Packets, Please" will launch for the first time next week.

Subscribe nowThank You's
I want to shout out this week's new paid subscribers for supporting me. It means a lot to be able to do what I do and enjoy it. By supporting Art of Infra, you're directly supporting me and my mission to make technical infrastructure great again/ accessible and easy to understand for everyone.
This shout-out goes to our very first paid subscriber, Miro.
Thank you very much. It truly made my evening to find out we had a paid sub! Appreciate you and thanks again!
Side note - But not so very side note
I've kept this super-important bit of information on the down low. We're expecting our firstborn, Billie, any time now!
So while I'm impatiently waiting for her arrival, I'm writing out posts, like this one, and finding little projects that need a finishing touch on them.

The due date for our glorious new form of life is... this weekend. So.. With that said, things will get pretty hectic (I think) for a little while but all for the better.
Expect future posts to be written by her, and I can only assume the reader base will be a lot more engaged as she'll take her mothers quirkiness and creativity ;).
